15 kw gen

Can get a 15 kw generator from work,just for hauling away,only problem is the engine is junk. Thought about trying to find a four cyl diesel engine of some type. Needs to run 1800 rpm i think. Gen is direct mounted to the engine now. Maybe make a plate and bering and couple it with a felx coupler? Any thoughts or should I just forget it? Any ideas on cheap diesel engines?
