5W30 means that it is a multi-weight oil. When it's hot it acts like 30 wt. When it's cold it acts like 5 weight so it flows better cold. Since the air cleaner oil is not in the engine and does not get to engine tenperature, it's acting like a lighter oil. Use straight 30 weight oil and it'll clear up.
