Can't answer why your solid state ignition went out, but I can
explain why your camera froze the fan blade. It's not so much the
camera as it is the flash, which fires maximum power in about
1/250,000th of a second. If you camera's shutter fired at 1/125th
of a second with no flash, there would be significant blur. When the
flash fires, it has max power from around 1/125,000th-1/250,000
of a second. Did you ever see the famous photo of the bullet going
through the apple? These flashes fire at about 1/1,000,000th of a
