If JD recommended Lucas and you didn't use it then that might be why the main bearing wear.Since I am pretty sure they don't have a recommendation for it,I would say it had a problem of another sort.Since it is allmost impossible that your new one will have the same problem,you will use Lucas in it and won't have the wear. I say use it if you are convinced.It don't cost THAT much. Mr. Lucas IS a very smart man after all.
