It was recommneded to me by a friend who uses it in everything he has. He said, it lowered the temp of his Peterbilt's rears by 25 degrees...yeah I asked how do you know, and his answer was he inserted a thermometer down in the housing.

Now as for STP.....I have an old friend who told me his first encounter with STP was in the 1950's when he was in the Air Force. Seems the AF used it in jet engines and bought it by the drum. These guys started using it in their cars too! When it hit the market after his AF days, he has never been without it. Now, whether any of this stuff is a magic bullet or not....I don't know. All my vehicles are well over 100K and none have ever used any additives to get there. I have gotten lazy and switched to synthetic oils and just change mine once a year.

The reason I decided to use the Lucas is because my last JD had mainbearing wear at 1500 hours and it was religiously cared for. It wore enough that it lost sufficient oil pressure below 1500 rpms. This new JD took a serious bite in my wallet and I figure I have nothing to lose by adding the Lucas.
