Do you leave the coop open at night or close them in after they all have roosted. I have free range chickens, but close them up at night. Never lost one at night - it's the hawks during the day that bother me! Usually don't have trouble in the Summer. The hawks are hungrier in Winter and food is less plentiful. Just make a plywood door for the coop and close them in at night.
