very dry here too in se texas. heard on the news last night about grass/brush fire in ft. bend cty that burned 400 acres. like you, we have had no really good rainfall since last fall. forecast is for rain on memorial day, but probably will only get hot wind and lighting and very little rain. so goes life in se texas in summer.
