I have had it done and it worked fine= the welding is not the prob. regrinding it is-- make sure the shop has the correct machine to do your crank- there is only chance- if they screw up the grind some times it can not be rewelded and reground- other wise it should cause you no problem== the machine must be able to take the crank down to the revolution you need for the particular journal you are having welded and ground-- hope you make out OK you should
