I am in the process of switching from a rear mount to a mid mount mower. The mid mount, I have found, lets me get closer to things than the rear mower. The rear mower does not scalp as bad as the midmount. I suspect it will just be a matter of getting used to the new mower and adjusting my mowing pattern to compensate. The rear mower is easier to take off so you can use the tractor for other things. I dedicated a tractor to just the midmount mower. Tractor for each implement.
