I've got 13 acres to take care of. I need to mow about two acres. I also want to plant about an acre of pumpkins. Eventually I'd like to use the rest to start a small wildflower and native grass operation. Here's the dilemma, should I get a "garden" tractor (like Cub Cadet GT2550) to mow and garden and hire out the bush-hogging/discing. Or should I get a cheaper lawn tractor for mowing only and also get an older tractor (like an 8N) to do the heavier work? My fear is that I'll overwork a garden tractor and waste my $$$$.
