Hi "Scamp", Another scenario - have you thought that perhaps the seller was the scamartist? Maybe his description was not all it should have been, and he answered like that to hide the real condition of the tractor? Until we know all the details we are unable to decide one way or the other, so waiting to read all the correspondence is the key to the decision. BTW I often ask questions to see how the replies tie in with the initial description. Can often give a good idea of whether the vendor is up-front or trying to be a bit cute by avoiding answering the question (like nearly all politicians). Regards, RAB
