There was a couple of years during the war where IH had trouble getting the pigments for the paint, so they substituted some other pigments. As these tractors aged, and the paint faded, some of them did fade to pink, and others, depending on which pigments were use, faded to orange. In later years when these old Farmalls were repainted, sometimes less than top quality paint was used, and most of those economy paint jobs faded out to pink in about 2 years or less.
