You will need to split the ole girl apart and put in a new seal. I'd replace the clutch assembly while you got it apart. That is if the clutch assembly has never been replaced before. The 3000 that I have has a two stage clutch which also controls the pto. Mine wore out at 4000 hours plus and required the spliting of the tractor for the repair. I had a pro help me with the splitting. You will be the proud owner of one of the best Ford ever built. Mine is a 1970 model. The engine is still fine and has yet to have any oil added between changes. It is always on the full mark. Good luck with your purchase.
