It"s quite possible you can just get away with rings--the Honda 185/200/250 engines were arguably the toughest engine ever put in an ATV, and I"ve seen dozens of them that just needed a quick hone and a ring job to restore power and reduce smoking. On the flip side, don"t be afraid to stick a bit of money in it--you"ll have a machine quite capable of lasting another 20 years and still being worth at least what you paid for it.
