I have owned, and been a fan of, diesel pickups since the GM 6.2 came out in 1982, and I had several diesel cars before that. I have owned GM's, a Ford, and put quite a few miles on a Dodge, helping a neighbor. But I can't even imagine buying a used newer one, and risking the out-of pocket costs of a set of injectors (or worse, if there's big-time trouble with the engine). I saw some information the other day that once Duramax injectors are out of the GM extended warrantee, they are about $750.00 a piece. I can't even imagine paying $6000.00 for 8 injectors, and I don't know for sure, but I'll bet the injectors for that Binder 6.0 Liter are up there in the same price range! For all the horror stories, it seems a lot of the Ford 6.0's have been good engines, but it doesn't take much of a "trip though the shop" nowadays to blow $2000.00 to $5000.00, and on up, when a problem does come up. With the price of diesel higher than gas, (and, again, I say this as a long-time diesel owner), and the repair and maintenance costs of a newer diesel over a gasser, I can't even been to see how owning a newer one nowadays would ever work out financially. Just an oil change, with the larger quantity (than a gasser) of higher-priced oil that meets the specs for that engine and a filter takes a fair chunk of change!
