I bought a 99 7.3 turbo last year with 9800 actual miles on it and I haven't had any problems with it to date. I have kept track of the fuel usage with a lot of trailering a 6500# moline and I have averaged 16.8 mpg since I bought it. It is hard to get us to the noise but love the steady power.
