Wain Roy Backhoe

I am considering purchasing a Wain - Roy backhoe. Its a model 3500D, Serial # 1235, does anyone know how old this baby is? It runs good but needs brakes and a few hoses, I can get her for $3000.
Can you still get parts?
Does this have the type of diesel that is "basically a converted gas engine" that can be hard to start in the cold mentioned in another post?
I can e mail pics to anyone interested.
My main use is to clear my driveway afetr heavy snows so this is important to me?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
