I work on ship with EMD 170 liter engines.
The manual says that the rear camshaft oil pressure varies so much that they do not put a gauge to measure it because of mistaken concern.
We have a gauge there anyhow.
With every vehicle I think it has to do with where the gauge is and the internal design of the oil system.
I would get a manual and look at the acceptable limits and go from there.
Sounds like good advice from around here too.
