O/T 5.3 liter oil pressure

Bought a "99 Chevy fullsize truck with the 5.3 liter V8 in it a few months ago. It has 250,000 miles on it and was treated well (have all Goodwrench service records) and never had any major repairs or replacements. I recently changed the oil and went from 5W-30 semi-synthetic to 10W-30 semi-synthetic. Temperatures have dropped lately and when I start it after it has sat 8 to 12 hours I nervously wait for any oil pressure. I do have lifter clatter for a few seconds but it did that before the oil pressure issue and I was told that is typical for that motor. Once its warmed up I have 55 to 60 lbs of oil pressure, runs like a top and uses no oil. Could it be the sending unit? Does something need to be bled? Am I in for the inevitable? I really like this truck but I can"t justify pulling the motor for just an oil pump at 250,000 miles. Thanks in advance,
