When you bore an engine you are increasing the swept volume of piston movement yet the combustion chamber size remains the same.The compression ratio is now [slightly] increased not decreased.If you stroke the same occurs.Also when you stroke the amount of time the intake valve stays open is longer and carburation may now tend to be too rich.
