In Spring I had to sell my Massey 1135 for financial and practical reasons. Just too big for a small cattle operation like mine. Currently, I have to borrow tractors when I need them. I am hoping to rectify this next year if I can get the finances rectified. So getting to my topic, I was wondering what the general opinion of Deutz tractors was. I know that they left the American market for a while after they sold off Allis. I don't know why. I'm curious about the durability of their air cooled diesels. My uncle was a mechanic for the railroad and had the highest praise for the Deutz engines they used. I try to keep a tab on prices and such for equipment that I may be interested in and I've noticed that they seem to be reasonably priced versus comparable models. Also, I have noticed that not many farmers in my area use them, but the ones that do seem to have all Deutz tractors.
