I had always heard that if you had cats around your place, you wouldn"t have snakes. As much as I dislike cats, I have found it to be true. Of course, then you won"t have mice, either. As long as I keep a couple of cats around, I never see snakes in their territory. I have a neighbor who claims to have even seen 2 cats team up to kill a rattlesnake.
