I believe what you're saying, but the fact is JD does offer a lot more factory options on the 20 series than the 05 series like more tire size options, including radials, power reverser, creeper trans, etc. as well as larger models with 4-cyl engine. Maybe this is how they get you to move up to the more expensive machine.

Now I see the 25 series is out, the engines in the samller ones seem all together different, 5-cyl if I remember correctly.
