The 2WD 03 built in India are the basic bare bones. The 05's built in the US can be loaded up with lots of goodies. Purchase a 4WD and radial tires, everything else is just a toy for cutting lawns. The 5000,5000 tens and even the 5000 twenties are a p.o.s. and that's coming from someone who bleeds green. The dumb *ss at Deere who pushed the 5000 series as bright idea should be made to trade jobs with the janitorial staff. I'm certain more common sense would have been used. Deere made a huge mistake discontinuing the old but proven New Generation Mannheim built tractors. And unlike with the 2010 when they knew they had messed up. Instead of scrapping the 5000 series like the 2010 was. The executives kept trying to polish a t*rd instead of admitting they made an error. The 2155,2355,2555, 2755,2955 & 3155 were exceptional. All they needed to do was just bolt in the latest tier I or II engine and go. Try purchasing a used one at an auction sale. People in the know bid more for a 15 year old 55 series than for a four year old 5000 twenty series.

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
