It depends on what you want to do with it. Two models make an interesting comparison: the International 414 Diesel and the Massey Ferguson 35 Deluxe with Perkins diesel. Both were built in the early sixties and sell today for well under $5k. The difference? The Perkins starts really well, winter and summer. Our International had to be plugged in all winter. On the other hand, the International is a strong loader tractor and the MF 35 has a low-capacity hydraulic pump, no differential lock, and an adequate, but less sturdy front axle. Nevertheless, my choice is the MF35 because of the great-sounding engine, excellent fuel economy, and good ride over rough ground. It's a likeable machine, and I never thought much of the International. Both of these tractors are small, strong, durable and cheap.
