Here's the scoop, I recently moved to the county with approx 20 acres (woods with trails and some yard). Anyhow, after looking at compact tractors I decided that an older farm/utility around 40-50 hp with a loader is what would work out best for me. Recently I was at an auction and I bought a used Woods 7200 HD bush hog made in 99 for $250. It was used by a city for mowing lots and such, the sides are bowed out but the deck, clutch and gearbox seem to be in good shape. I figure that even if the mower is too big for what I need I can always get my money out of it. So here is my question, the Woods web page says that 50 to 150 hp is required to run the mower (it weighs 1300 pounds). So what happens if I try and run it with a 40 hp tractor? It's not like I'm going to be taking out 4" trees? Mainly just mowing the trails and such in the woods and along the road.

The answer to our needs materialized in the form of a '44 Farmall A, complete with cultivators, discs, single plow, a 5ft.Woods belly mower and one, mounted spare 9.00x24 rear wheel.
