Not gonna argue w/ ya, but the fenders don't always save ya either. I was driving our Massey 165 down the road one winter w/ tire chains on(I think I was 10) I was only in 2nd gear, but the chain came loose on one side. The hook ended up grabbing the fender, ripping it off the tractor and throwing it into the side of my head. Luckily enough, all I got out of it was a heck of a goose egg and an @$$ chewing from my dad when I got home for going on that joy ride...
