Also helps to put a little air pressure in the tank- I drilled a hole in the center of an unvented gas cap the right size to accept a rubber based tubeless valve stem- don't put a lot of air pressure in but a little will get things moving. This was an improvement on my earlier method, which was to put my mouth inside the fill neck, and blow- worked fine so long as I held the pressure, but blew back when I let go, and I ended up with a face full of diesel. Sort of the long chain hydrocarbon equivalent of egg on my face.
