You're right on with the pronunciation, as far as I know. Bella-roose. Although, as far as I know, Belarus is a country all by itself these days. It used to be a Soviet state, back in the day.
Correct pronunciation aside, here in Nova Scotia, most people I know always pronunced it Be-lair-us;
some of us a little bit sarcastically....... but I know it's not correct. Have a good one.
