Where do you get both? Oil breakdown (but syns don't breakdown very easily)....plus some ingested dirt and some exhaust byproducts that slipping by the rings.

I usually change once per year on slightly used equipment. I don't figure that's too often.

Something interesting is that oils are finally advertising on the container that you REALLY can run your oil more than 3000 miles without changing (Mobil).....geez did they fall out of their high chair? That's been the biggest ripoff of the American consumer since credit cards....course one of my Ford owners manuals said that you could run 7500 miles under certain conditions. So Ala. With new syn oils all this stuff is just that...BS.
