fence stays

If this is off topic, I am sorry. I tried to match it to the right category as best I could. I bought a bundle of twisted wire fence stays the other month and I was wondering if anyone knew exactly how they are made or if they themselves have made a twisting jig to make their own for heavy gauge wire. the ones that you twist on smooth or barbed wire in between posts to hold the area all tight and properly spread apart. I was was sure we can do this cheaper. But that is famous last words. With my line of work, I can the exact same wire quite affordably. Appreciate any help. Stu
