Yepper. In our clay, some of the "ruts" last for years; especially when the 4x4's have a joy ride. So what I'm hearing is, you put them on not cause you needed more traction, but to reduce soil compaction. Ok! So I guess the little skinny tires are for truck farmin down between the rows and you are doing field cultivation. On mine, my last pass is with a spike toothed harrow, pulled by a light weight tractor and seed is drilled in with an even smaller/lighter tractor. Seems to work.....but the field has to be desert dry for it to work as planned. Later, Mark
