Yes Sir, You and I are doing the same exact thing only we're using different methds. The old guys used to explain it this way: Start the tillage deep and bring it's level up a little with each additional pass until the last pass before plantin' is just two to three inches below the surface leaving you a perfect seedbed. Guess this is why I'm such a fanatic lover of the darned packer (or culti-packer as some call 'em) for plowed ground. I like to plow at about 10", then pull that packer over the ground. It loosens the soil, breaks it up into a fine consistency and packs it back just right at the top two to three inches all in one pass. Allan
