OT Well water pumps

I need suggestions for a water pump for my well. Problem #1 is that I have no electricity so that pretty much eliminates jet pumps. Water rises to about 26 ft (borderline shallow well) so I've been using a cistern type hand pump but don't get much water for the effort it takes. Tried a gas powered centrifugal pump but it didn't have enough suction to pull from that depth. I thought of a windmill--can still buy them new but they are very expensive. My local pump guy said to get an electric submersible pump and either run it with a generator or solar-again pretty expensive. Ideas?
