You may have a few years on me, but still not old. I am guessing that you are probably about the age my father would be if he had not been taken by cancer 15 years ago. I think of him sometimes when I read your farm posts. He was a farm boy from Iowa, second son and his parents could help the eldest get set on a farm and sent him to college. He was a very successful engineer, but always wanted to get back to the farm. During the '70s he bought about 140 acres in Wisconsin to cut firewood to heat the house since oil was starting to go up in price (sounds familiar). That was how he justified it, but it was mostly to have some place to get out and roam and call his own. As a teenager, I did not always appreciate going out almost every Saturday to clear fence rows and bring home wood, but now I wish I could have the time back. I look back and really think those were our best times together. Just something about working side by side. I became an engineer largely because of him, but have ended up with a little Horse place (15 acres). I don't ride, but it gives me an excuse to have a couple tractors, Ford 9N and 3600. That's another reason I appreciate your posts, let me know when you start building the horse facilities, that I have some experience with. Anyway, here in SouthCentral Pennsylvania today it is about 98% humidity, but I have the mower running now. Never got the bowl off, but kept spinning and it finally got started. Thanks Again, Kirk

For all of these years I have wondered just exactly what happens to old tractors? Times were not always like this. I can remember back to 1948 when I was a brand new John Deere Model M. A man and his wife came to the dealer and looked me over real good. After many talks with the salesman a deal was struck and I, along with a M2 plow, c
