I would really be surprised if the big Komatsu used hydostat, isn't it a twin disc torque converter with lock up clutch? I didn't think it even had differential steer. Cooling a 1200 hp Tier II emissions engine is not easy and adding all the heat from a hydrostat that size would require a huge radiator(s)! But I could be wrong, and I guess that will give me a reason to contact some old friends who will know.
