O.T. F 150 Pickup

As long as we were on the pickup subject I have a question for some of you owners of the Ford F 150 with the small V8 (4.6) How has that motor worked out for you in terms of long lasting and mileage? I have a 04 with 4wd drive and the 3.31 rear end, I can hit 19 mpg on the highway, less in the city, sometimes a lot less.
I just wonder how many miles I can get out of the motor and any problems that this engine can develop. Always have had six cyl, up until now. Thanks for any input.
