The local MF - Case IH - Kobota dealer in Weatherford Texas, Ellis Equipment, just lost their Massey Ferguson contract as a dealer. They will no longer be able to sell any MF tractors, Hesston hay equipment (also owned by AGCO), or any parts. They have been a MF dealer at least since the 1950s and maybe longer. The AGCO corporate did not like the dealer being also a dealer of Kobota tractors. The dealer tells me he was selling 20 Kobotas for every 1 MF and MF corporate did not like the pressure. Dealer says the high sales of Kubota is due to price, quality, and lower repairs. Now I will have to drive to another town to find a much smaller MF dealer, plus establish new relationships. Too bad, sad day for MF.
