6.0 Chevy Power ?

I just made the plunge from a Cummins Diesel to a 2002 Chevy 6.0 gasser. I spotted this Chevy HD2500 with 35,000 miles and decided to make the trade. It is certainly a very nice rig, but sure not the torque of the Dodge, which I knew it wouldn't be. My question, however is I seem to notice what would seem like a collapsed lifter, or something, when I start it after it has been setting a few hours. It clatters and then quiets down. My son is thinking lifters, but my Dad, who has had new Chevy's for years, said all of his last few have sounded the same way. Have the 6.0's been noted for haveing any lifter trouble? I just went to Arizona and back, so my mileage is now over the warranty. Thanks for any input. Bob
