My wife and I drove a car to Florida for one of her friends who has Onstar. The friend is of money and told us to use the Onstar because she never has. It was very handy for booking hotels when we were in areas we didn't know anything about. We'd pick a point about an hour away and tell them to find us a nice hotel and they'd call around and then come back with "You're now booked at the Hawthorne" or whatever and have directions on how to get there. We'd say "Well we're thinking of the Outback for dinner" and they'd find one nearby and then say "Theres also a local steakhouse that might be better". We'd usually go to the local place and it was always good. Used the phone a couple times but were never impressed with the voice dialer. It did seem to get good service though and I imagine it'd work better in back areas because the antenna is bigger and more powerful.
