I have a ford 4500 backhoe that is making noise when any load is placed on the hydraclics. This slowly occured over about 5 hours of use. Also the hydraclics are very slow to respond now. There is what appears to be a dipstick in the front top of the machine for checking the fluid level, it shows to be full. There is a large round cap just behind the dipstick, I am not sure what that is. Is there any other place to check the fluid for the hydralics? I am guessing the pump is in front behind the grille? Does it have more than one pump? I would appreciate any trouble shooting tips that anyone could give me. Thanks.
