John and all interested vets. I spoke with the VA regional office and they advise the foillowing. The easiest way to obtain medals and awards for a veteran is to submit a letter to wit: "As the legal next of kin I request that I be issued all award emblems that (NAME) was entitled to. A copy of the seperation document is enclosed." Send this request and include the following information: Vet Social Security number DD 214 Service number VA file number (get it from your regional office) date of birth (DOB) place of birth date of death Include your name, address and phone number This letter ands information should be sent to the following address. The counselor indicated it be typed this way so you may want to copy and paste it. This info is specific to the ARMY. US ARMY RESERVE ATTN:DARP-PAS-EAW 9700 PAGE BLVD ST LOUIS MO 63132-5100 Again this process takes time. I was told it could take a year to complete your request so be patient. Hope this helps
