JD 8630 Opinion Question

friend has a chance to buy a JD 8630, w/new radial tires, 1000 hrs on new 50 series 619, new rear end & power shift.
But the tractor jumps out of B & C ranges, with increasing frequency. what could that be??
Are the 619 good motors? What about the rest of the drivetrain? Hydraulics? Axles? centerpivot?Is this a good tractor and what would you look for and be leary of about them? I am not too familiar with the green stuff? Thanks for any advice or opinions.
