Well, you probably can look in your local area - this sounds like an "inside" job. They probably knew of your parents habits - cars parked in yard, when thy are gone and not, that sort of thing... Not much you can do except lock up tightly, and take whatever security measures you can afford. Hopefully, someone's mouth will get out of control some nite in the back of the bar, and the cops will be able to fit the puzzle together. Most likely the culprits are nearby. Anyone unexpected visit lately - like casing the place when your folks were there? Unfortunately, living in the country is not any longer a measure of protection. Crime has moved out here too.
