Hey guys, I've got a question that I'm hoping somebody out there can answer for me. I've got two dogs, one outdoors, and the other kind of a "Lassie" type that likes to run around outside during the day and then come in at night. All through the summer I found very few ticks or fleas on either dog, and never any in the house. Now that the cold weather has set in, and we've had at least two fair frosts (around 27 at night)I've found more ticks and fleas on both dogs than I did all summer. Needless to say the indoor/outdoor dog is out permanantly now to keep the fleas out of the house. Then today we went riding 4-wheelers in the woods behind the house and when we casme back in I found three ticks on my boy. In the past I can never remember ticks or fleas being this active this late in the year. Has anybody else noticed this in your area, and does anyone have any ideas/old wives tales/ or other "scientific" reasons why this might be happening??
