How about buying a "field ready" tractor? This particular tractor had a whole list of new parts and stuff that was done to it. List of new parts and what description should have been: recent clutch-maybe, but weak; recent brakes- grab and jerk; recent bearing and syncros and bearings in transmission-growls and 5th gear is out; new batteries and seat-it did have these two; recent overhaul-maybe, but forgot to mention hole in the block that was patched with JB Weld that leaks; new paint-quick sandblast and paint with sand still on some of it: 95% rubber-rear yes, front yes, but with deep and long cuts in between the ribs. Forgot to mention oil running out of front main and front PTO. When asked about the hole in the block, Vern said he should have told us about it. You Think! In contrast, we have bought 7 or 8 tractors off of E*BAY and haven't had a bit of trouble. In the hundreds of parts and manuals we have bought we have had trouble with only two people.
