Thanks guys for all the answers however I had done all the suggusted below except the hammer. The engine is loose which was the first thing I checked, the cables next, the amount of power to the starter next. When I put the battery cable directly to the starter it did not even spark. As I mentioned earlier I had the stzrter checked for a second time and was assured it was ok. I mainly wanted to know if there was a safty switch which would keep the starter from operating. I would guess not since no one mentioned it in the replys. thanks again
