If there is a choice, go with the 4020 or the 4000 over the 3010. The 3010 diesel was with the early 60's "new generation" JD, which were the first diesels to use a 4 cylinder over the old 2 cylinder. The later model diesels, 3020 4000 etc were an improvement over the "10" series. The "10" series gas were ok.
