And a fine mornin' to you all! Did you know that 72% of all statistics are made up on the spot? Oh well...It's early. I try to believe that MOST people are honest. That seems to work in my favor. Treat people the way you want to be treated, I say. I've had a grand total of 4 people try to "stiff" me on sales or service fees over the years. Out of the hundreds I've dealt with, that isn't bad odds. I'm all in favor of making name PUBLIC RECORD when someone is a crook though. No reason why EVERYONE needs to be ripped off, just because they got me or you. In addition to my "day job" and the farm, I buy and sell used farm equipment, and do "custom farming". MOST of the work I do, and MOST of the equipment I sell, is to the YUPPIE population that's invading our area. They tend to want a lot for nothing. They also want to use equipment, then return it after they get their job done. I'm not in the "loaner" business. Doctors and lawyers tend to be the worst when it comes to paying on time. Real estate agents are just as bad. I won't even consider working for home builders anymore. Most of them are nothing short of criminals.... I tend to pass up "deals' that look shady. I try to deal in cash as much as possible. Checks over $500 must clear the bank before anything leaves the yard. (UNLESS I know the person) Life is too short to be putting yourself in stressfull situations that can be avoided. "Don't take any wooden nickels" John

Since we can’t actually talk to our tractors, though some of the older sect of farmers might disagree, we use our five physical senses to observe and construe what our iron age friends are trying to tell us. We have already talked about some of the colors the unit might leave as clues to its well-being. Now we are going to use our noses to diagnose particular smells. ELECTRICAL SMELLS
