I hear all these horror stories and count my lucky stars. I've had about the same luck in that department as you have. In 20 years of being in business dealing mainly with farmers and machinery jockeys I've been given 3 bad checks, all of which were made good, and lost $200 to a guy who filed bankrupcy, and a couple of slow pays.
You tend to get a "feel" for people and as Kenny Rogers say, "Know when to walk away and know when to RUN!"
